Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of arm muscle power and eye and hand coordination to the ability of chest pass in students of basketsextracurricular football at SMP Negeri 4 Pekanbaru. This type of research is amultiple correlation of 3 variables. The variable X1 is arm muscle power, variable X2 is eye-hand coordination and variable Y is the ability of basketball chest pass.The population in this study amounted to 18 people, the sampling technique was total sampling and the number of samples was 18 people. The instrument of thisresearch is the test of rejecting medicine balls, throwing the ball at the target andwall pass test. The results of calculations performed obtained rx1y correlation index = 0.663, correlation value rx2y = 0.511 and correlation index rx1x2y = 0.740. Theconclusion of this study is that there is a contribution of arm muscle power to the chest pass ability of extracurricular students playing ball baskset at SMP Negeri 4 Pekanbaru by 44%. There is a contribution of eye and hand coordination to the ability of chest pass in extracurricular students playing ball baskset at SMP Negeri 4 Pekanbaru at 26.1%. There is a contribution of arm muscle power and eye and hand coordination to the chest pass ability of 54.8% of students from SMP Negeri 4 Pekanbaru.
