Abstract
The type of this research is descriptive research using correlational approach. The sample in this research, is all students of class VIII SMPN Marpoyan Damai Distric Pekanbaru consisting of SMPN 34, SMPN 25, and SMPN 08 which amounted to 195 students. collection using observation, interview, questionnaire, and documentation. Data analysis technique using correlation analysis technique pearson product moment (PPM). From result of research obtained correlation between variable X (learning motivation) and variable Y (learning result) equal to 0,658 and contribution of motivation learn to result of science learning equal to 43,3%. Based on t test analysis obtained t count equal to 12,124 and ttabel equal to 1,653. So thitung (12,124)> ttabel (1,653) which means H0 rejected and Ha accepted. This shows that there is a significant correlation between motivation with science learning outcomes of students of grade VIII SMPN Marpoyan Damai Districk Pekanbaru academic year 2016/2017.
