Abstract

The still low learning outcomes of lower ball volleyball passing is the background of this study. The purpose of this study was to improve the lower passing of volleyball games through direct learning methods in class VIIA students of SMP Negeri 2 Tapung Hilir Kampar District. This type of research is PTK (Class Action Research). The population in this study were seventh grade students of Bagan Sinembah State Middle School 6 of Rokan Hilir Regency, amounting to 31 people. The sample technique in this study was total sampling so the number of samples was 31 students. The results of the application of the direct learning method obtained an average learning outcome of volleyball under-passing was 86 with the number of students completing or graduating as much as 77%. The application of the direct learning method in the second cycle obtained an average learning result of volleyball under-passing of 89 and the number of students completed or passed as much as 97%. The conclusion of this study is that the direct learning method can improve the learning outcomes of under-passing passing volleyball through students in class VIIA of SMP Negeri 2 Tapung Hilir Kampar Regency. The average cycle I is 83 while the average cycle II is 86. The percentage of passing cycle I is 77% while the second cycle increases to 93%.
