Abstract

The background of this study was the observation of the volleyball team Pejaskesrek Pekanbaru Riau Islamic University. The results of the observation showed that the ability to volleyball game smash still less than perfect. Volleyball smash maximum results with regard to the physical and salahs atuny conditions become a power arm muscles. The purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of the poor muscle strength to determine volleyball team results Penjaskesrek Riau Islamic University smash. The method used is the correlation method. The population in this study were male student volleyball team Penjaskesrek Riau Islamic University, which totaled 15 people. The sampling technique used in this study is the total sampling rate that the number of samples in this study became 15 students. The tool used in this study is to throw the medicine ball and test company overhead smash volleyball game. Based on the calculation of product moment correlation r count value obtained was 0.220. The correlation index values in the range between 0.20-0.40 with the category of "low". R table value 0.514. The result of the calculation determination coefficient obtained percentage of 4.8%. The conclusion of this study is there is a significant contribution to the results of the poor muscle strength smash volleyball game Penjaskesrek team Riau Islamic University. Large is only 4.8%.
