Abstract

Based on the phenomena in this study, the writer feels interested to do researching this because the ability of students of class XI IPA3 SMA Negeri 6 Pekanbaru lack of good category (60-69) in analyzing the structure and custom of the text explanation. In addition to knowing in reality the extent of ability Class XI IPA3 students in analyzing the structure and language of explanatory texts. Thing this can be seen from some students who still have difficulty analyzing the structure and linguistic explanatory texts. The problem in this study is (1) how the ability of students of class XII IPA3 SMA 6 Pekanbaru in the school year 2018/20189 in analyzing the structure of explanatory texts, (2) how the ability of students of class XII IPA3 SMA 6 Pekanbaru in the school year 2018/2019 in analyzing the explanatory text language. The purpose of this research to collect data and information about the ability of students of class XII IPA3 SMA Negeri 6 Pekanbaru in the academic year 2018/2019 based on structural analysis and linguistic explanatory texts. The theory used is the theory of Yadi Mulyadi (2017) and Abduk Razak (2014). The population in this study were all students of class XII IPA3, amounting to 25 students. The research sample uses saturated samples, i.e the sampling technique of all members of the population is used as a sample. Method The method used in this research is descriptive method. Collection technique data using observation techniques and test techniques. The hypothesis of this research is (1) the ability of students to analyze explanatory texts in class XII IPA3 of SMA Negeri 6 weekends based on poor category structure (60-69), (2) students' abilities analyze explanatory texts class XII IPA3 SMA Negeri 6 Pekanbaru based bad language categorized (60-69). The results of the study of the ability of class students XII IPA3 of SMA Negeri 6 Pekanbaru in the academic year 2018/2019 in analyzing the structure and language of the explanatory text are categorized as good. Student ability in analyzing the explanatory text structure obtained an average value of 85.3 (categorized well). The ability of students to analyze the language of explanatory texts is obtained an average value of 86.7 (categorized as good). It can be concluded the average ability of students class XII IPA3 SMA 6 Pekanbaru in the 2018/2019 academic year analyze the structure and language of explanatory texts with an average value of 85.9 (good categories), and hypotheses (60-69) bad categories are rejected.
