Abstract
This study aims to determine the factors that cause students learning difficulties in mathematics in online learning at SMAN 1 Kampar Kiri Hilir. The subjects in this study were students of class XI science at SMAN 1 Kampar Kiri Hilir for the academic year 2021/2022 as many as class XI science students with a total population of 68 students consisting of 15 male students and 53 female students. The form of this research is descriptive qualitative. The data collection teachnique in this study was carried out using a survey method, namely by distributing online questionnaires through Google Forms sent via WhatsApp Group messsages. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that online learning is carried out. Overall, there are 50 % who find it difficult in the online teaching and learning process, there are 48,53 % student find it difficult in the high category in the network aspect in participating in the online teaching and learning process, there are 41,18 % students get difficulty in the high category when participating in the online teaching and learning process, 45,59 % of students have difficulty understanding the material taught by the teacher, 92,65 % of students have difficulty in terms of communication facilities both in the form of laptops and androids, 80,88 % of students have difficulty communicating with teachers, 32,35 % students have difficulty communicating with friends, 45,59% students have difficulty communicating with parents to ask for help in completing assignments.
