Abstract

This study is entitled "Comparison of Basic Vocabulary of Riau Malay in Kampar Dialect with Patani Malay in South Yala Dialect of Thailand". The problems of this study are (1) how do the basic vocabulary similarities in the Riau Malay dialect of Kampar dialect with the Patani Malay dialect of Yala Selatan Thailand? (2) how do the basic vocabulary similarities between Riau Malay Kampar dialect and Patani Malay dialect in South Yala Thailand? (3) how is the basic vocabulary difference between Riau Malay Kampar dialect and Patani Malay dialect in South Yala Thailand? This study aims to find out, describe and analyze data and information about the comparison of the basic vocabulary of the Malay Riau dialect of Kampar dialect with the Malay language of the Yala dialect of South Thailand. The theory used is the theory of Keraf (1991). The method used in this research is ethnographic method. The techniques used are observation techniques, interview techniques, and recording techniques. The results were obtained by the similarities, similarities and differences between the Malay Malay dialect of Kampar dialect and Patani Malay dialect of Yala. The basic vocabulary equation of the Riau Malay Kampar dialect with the Patani Malay dialect of the South Yala Thai dialect is 28 words. One of the data is the word [dig] in BMRDK also called [dig] in BMPDY, the similarity of the Malay vocabulary of the Malay dialect in Kampar dialect with the language Patani Malay dialect of South Yala Thailand is 69 words, one of which is in the word [puse?] In BMRDK and [pusa?] 'Navel' in BMPDY, and differences in the basic vocabulary of Malay Riau dialect Kampar with Malay Patani South Yala dialect Thailand is 103 words, one of which is the word [what?] 'Father' in BMRDK and [ayoh] 'father' in BMPDY
