Abstract
“Development of Learning Media Using PowerPoint to Increase Student Interest in Building a Flat Sided Space Material” Chervony NPM : 166410295 Thesis Mathematics Education Study Program. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. Riau Islamic University. Supervisor Sindi Amelia, S.Pd., M.Pd ABSTRACT This study aims to design and validate the development of Powerpoint media to increase students' interest in learning on the material of flat side space. The population used is class VIII SMP Islam Terpadu Al-Hafit Pekanbaru. The research period starts on February 10, 2021 until March 10, 2021. The main analysis uses a quantitative Research Development approach, with the ADDIE model specifications, namely from analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, so that learning activities are carried out online, in this research the implementation stage cannot be carried out. For this reason, the results of the learning media design that have been made are then realized into a new product that is in accordance with the 2013 curriculum and the discovery learning model. Then the researchers tested the validity of the powerpoint learning media conducted by four expert validators. The validity test was carried out by two mathematics education lecturers, FKIP UIR and two mathematics teachers. The average percentage of powerpoint learning media validation for each expert validator is about 86% with a very valid category, for the highest percentage around 93% with a very valid category. Therefore, powerpoint learning media is suitable for use by students in the teaching and learning process, so as to increase students' interest in learning mathematics and facilitate teachers in teaching E-education and discovery learning oriented
