Abstract

The purpose of this study was the contribution of explosive limb muscle power to Sepak takraw smash skill in PPLP athletes sepak takraw Siak Regency. This type of research is a simple correlation. The population in this study were all 17 male PPLP athletes, the sampling technique was total sampling and the number of samples was 17 people. The instrument of this research is the vertical jump test, sepak takraw smash test. The results of calculations performed obtained a correlation index of 0.503. This value is then compared with the r table value at n = 17 or Df = 15 with a 5% error rate of 0.482. Comparison of the two values r count value is greater than r table so there is a contribution between the two variables. The value of t count is obtained at 2.25 while t table at df = 15 is 2.13. Based on the calculation, it can be seen that the percentage of explosive limb muscle relationship to sepak takraw smash is 25.3%. The conclusion in this study is that there is a contribution of explosive power of leg muscles to the skills of sepak takraw smash in the athletes of PPLP sepak takraw in Siak Regency by 25.3%.
