Abstract

Learning media has an important role in the teaching and learning process, with the help of the media it can make it easier for teachers to present subject matter and make it easier for students to understand the subject matter. The purpose of this study was to determine how the competence and creativity of teachers in utilizing instructional media in SD 76 Pekanbaru. Descriptive research method, with a qualitative approach, the data sources in this study are: the principal and 5 class teachers. Data collection techniques in this study through interviews, observation, and documentation. And data analysis techniques using the Miles and Huberman model (data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions). Based on the results of the research, the competence of teachers in utilizing the media is quite good, the media used by the teacher is in the form of learning videos from YouTube, while the creativity of teachers in utilizing the media is classified as not creative, because only a small proportion (5%) of teachers design learning media in the form of power points, implementation through zoom, this is because the teacher has less time to design instructional media. Then when viewed in terms of modification, the teacher also does not modify the learning media that they use or use, the teacher directly uses the learning video without modifying it again.
