Abstract

One of the biodiversity that has high growth in Indonesia is oil palm. Oil palm plantations become excellent so that Indonesia becomes the largest palm oil producing country in the world. Economic problems as one of the drivers of crime, because the economic situation that develops in a country has a very large influence on the main points of one's life. The formulation of the problem raised in this study is how is the crime prevention strategy against palm oil theft by PTPN V? As for the type of research in this study is included in the type of qualitative research with the aim of describing the actual situation of what is happening at the research site through the collection, identification, analyzing the data so that an answer to the problem is formulated. Key informants in this study are the General System, Security Members, Actors, while the informants in this study are Security Officers, Security Administration. The results of interviews conducted by the authors to key informants and informants about crime prevention strategies against palm oil theft are due to the opportunity for perpetrators to commit crimes, especially in certain situations, places, and times. And there are economic factors that are perpetrators of theft of oil palm. With the recapitulation data of security officers about the loss of the company's oil palm FFB which reaches 150 Kg-1 Ton every year. To anticipate crime through three general steps, namely creating security designs, organizing effective procedures, and developing safe products. Situational crime prevention efforts aim to create a design that can ward off crime.
