Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the form of social control against theft of swallow's nests (Case Study in Rawang Empat Village, Bandar Petalangan District, Pelelawan Regency). This research is a qualitative research. Qualitative approach is a process of research and understanding based on methodology that investigates a social phenomenon and human problems. In this research, the method used is qualitative research. The research location in this study will be done in the village of Rawang Empat, Bandar Petalangan District. In this study the key informants were adolescents who stole the saliva of Nestburung Swallow and the victims of swallow saliva in the village of Rawang Em pat, Bandar Petalangan District, amounting to 5 people. Data collection techniques that are usually carried out for self-observation surveys consist of two ways including interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique of this research will use descriptive analysis of qualitative data. Based on research results in the case of swallow nest theft in the community in Desa Rawang Empat, this formal reaction was difficult because the police did not have enough evidence to convict the perpetrators of the crime of theft. In an informal reaction a lot has been done, namely by providing preventive and repressive prevention from the police as well as community self-help businesses by giving an effect of being ostracized to the perpetrators of the theft.
