Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of parents' socioeconomic status and students' extrinsic motivation on student achievement in class xi administration of the aviation management vocational school in Pekanbaru. The methodology used in this study is a comparative causal research with a quantitative approach. The population in this study amounted to 44 students with a sample using the Total Sampling technique of 44 students in class XI Office Administration SMK Aviation Management Pekanbaru. The data collection technique in this study used a questionnaire that was processed using a questionnaire that was processed using IBM SPSS Statistics version 22.00 for windows. The technique of determining the sample uses the Total Sampling technique. The instrument tests carried out are: Validity Test, Reliability Test, Normality Test, Homogeneity Test, Multicollinearity, Descriptive Statistical Analysis, Multiple Linear Regression, t Test, F Test and Coefficient of Determination Test. The test results in table F can be seen that the Fcount value is 32,959 with the Ftable value is 3.22 so that the Fcount> Ftable or 32,959> 3.22, with a significant level of 0.000 <0.05 then H0 is rejected and H3 is accepted, it can be concluded that The variables of parents' socioeconomic status (X1) and learning motivation (X2) simultaneously have a significant effect on learning achievement at the Aviation Management Vocational School in Pekanbaru. The value of the coefficient of determination is found in the Adjusted R Square value of 0.598. This means that the ability of the independent variable to explain the dependent variable is 59.8%, the remaining 40.2% is explained by other variables not discussed in this study.
