Abstract

This researchaims to find out, describe, and analyze the form of presentation of the compound of theSerunai Tanjung at a weddingparty in Pekanbaru, Riau Province. The theory used by Harselina, Margiyanto, RostaMinawati, Nursyirwan and Khusniati. The approach used in this study is a descriptive analysis method with qualitative data. The study focused on the form of presentation of the Serunai Tanjungwith elementsof the instrument,show settings, time,costumesand number of players. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews and documentation. The results of theresearch is the form of music presentation in thisart is in the form of "Kompang ensemble". The instruments used in the arts are kompang with a diameter of 30cm and 35cm. The preparation in the presentation is divided into 3 stages, (1) the stage of bringing the groom to theweddingvenue, at this stage the pattern ofKompang that is played isYa Maulaypattern. The tempo ofYa Maulay is 130 bpm. There are four patterns namely Lurus, Tengkah Lurus, Marapat and Tengkah Marapat.Kompang is playedwith songsholawatYaMaulaywhile walking slowly. (2) the stage to accompany thePencak Silat. At this stage using a pattern of Kompang,it calledLuncai, thispatternhas three patterns,Lurus, Tengkah Lurus,and Marapat. The tempo of theLuncai is 150 bpm and it played without vocals. (3) the stage of bringinggroom to thePelaminan. At this stage thepattern ofkompangused isKacang Goreng. It has three patterns namelyLurus, Tengkah Lurus,andMarapat. Kompangis played without vocal. The tempo used is 130 bpm. TheStageplace does not have standard rules or can be adjusted to the conditionsat thewedding venue. Costumes fromKompangmusicians areBaju Kurung Melayu. This outfit depicts the identity of the Malay community inPekanbaru.
