Abstract

Sanitation issues in Regency of Meranti Island are still relatively underdevelop proper access. The Central Goverment through it Miniatry of Public Works created a Community-Based Environmental Sanitation Program that provieds solutions for providing infrastructure to people whose dwellings are dense, slums and low-income. This activity is funded through the Special Allocations Fund (DAK). The implementation support ( Guideliens for the Use of the Sanitations Sub-Sector Infarstructure) and ( Technical Guidelines for the Implementations of Community-Based Spesial Sanitation Funds for Allocation). Selatpanjang Village Tebing Tinggi District Meranti Island Regency is one of the recipients of the program. Activites carried out by community-based slf-management start from preparation, planning, implemantation and maintenance. The study aims tu discuss the activities and see the impacts and changes is sanitation conditions of the community’s environment and problems. Research using quantitaive by using descriptive. The population and sample of the study were the Head of Sanitation Department of Pubic Works and Spatial Planning, Housing and Settlement Areas, District of Meranti island, South Selatpanjang Village, Field Facilitator Power, RT, RW, Chairperson of the Kampung Baru Community Self-Help Group. And the community receives beneficiaries of activities that are respondents who know the problem.based on the results of this study regarding the activites of the Special Allocation Fund for the Field of Environmental Sanitation in 2017 in Selatpanjang Selatan Village has been carried out quitq well. Infrastructure infrastructure development activites provide assistance to change the enivronment and provide positive benefits for the healty and envrionment of the community. The success of the activites can also be see from the partipation of the community to support each other and cut the independence of the community in the change to behave in clean and healty life.
