Abstract

This research is a descriptive qualitative analysis learning difficulties experienced by students in mathematics. Research this was held in June 2014 in the odd semester of the academic year 2014/2015. The formulation of the problem in this study is (1) What are the difficulties student learning in studying mathematics at MTs Al-Muhajirin Sukamulya. (2) What are the more dominant difficulties that cause students in Al-MTs Emigrants who have difficulty learning mathematics. The purpose of this research is to knowing the form of student learning difficulties in learning mathematics and to find out more dominant difficulties that cause students in MTs Al-Muhajirin who had difficulty learning mathematics. The population of this study is all MTs Al-Muhajirin Sukamulya students totaling 107 students. That being a sample in this study were grades VII and VIII which numbered 69 students. The instruments of data collection used were questionnaires, sheets observation and interview. The data obtained were analyzed qualitatively by calculating the percentage percentage of each statement item and qualitative in narrative description. The results showed that motivation factors moderate description that is with the percentage number 48,54%, factor of interest low description that is with the percentage number 41.78%, talent factor moderate description with a percentage rate of 47.46%, family factors are described with a percentage rate of 62.04%, the school factor is being described with a percentage of 55.49%, and environmental and mass media factors moderate description with a percentage rate of 58.03%. Suggestions submitted in this research is (1) the need for good communication between teachers, students, and parents in an effort to overcome the difficulties of learning mathematics students of MTs Almuhajirin Sukamulya (2) the teacher should be more manage students when learning mathematics take place, (3) You have to family especially Person Old give away attention to education her children.
