Abstract

Security and public order is a sensitive problem because it involves more than one party, so persuasive handling is needed, one of which is about street vendors. Pekanbaru became the main target of urbanites to look for jobs that affected the increase in population, increasing unemployment and poverty rates, and changes in urban spatial structure due to the establishment of illegal houses that did not have building permits to street vendors who sold without permission and not at the specified place. Therefore, it is necessary to provide guidance to the street vendors, but the development has not run optimally. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of the Market Sector in the Department of Trade and Industry in providing guidance to street vendors in the Senapelan Market in Pekanbaru City and to find out the obstacles in the role of the market sector at the Trade and Industry Agency in providing guidance to street vendors in the Senapelan Market Pekanbaru City. The types of research that the authors use in this study measure carefully by using quantitative analysis. The results showed that the role of the Market Sector in the Department of Trade and Industry in Providing Guidance to Street Vendors in the City of Pekanbaru (Study in the Senapelan Market) was said to be quite good but not yet effective. Inhibiting Factors in the Role of the Market Sector in the Department of Trade and Industry in Providing Guidance to Street Vendors in the City of Pekanbaru (Study in the Pasarapapelan) is the lack of infrastructure, the refusal of street vendors to be relocated, and the lack of training programs for street vendors.
