Abstract
The purpose of this study was to produce a Malay -based Malay musical instrument based on Bengkalis Riau with a Realistic Mathematics Approach (PMR) which was tested for its validity and practicality . Learning tools developed in the form of Learning Implementation Plans (RPP) and Student Worksheets (LKPD). The form of this research is Research and Development (R & D) with steps namely potential problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revisions, product trials, product revisions and final products. The subjects of the trial in this study were 28 Bengkalis State Middle School 1 students. The instruments used in this study were RPP validation sheet, LKPD validation sheet, student response questionnaire, teacher response questionnaire and learning implementation questionnaire. The techniques used in this development research are validation techniques, observation techniques and questionnaire techniques. From the results of this study, the results of RPP validation of 79.78% with validity criteria are quite valid, and the results of LKPD validation are 77.84% with fairly valid criteria. Furthermore,the results obtained practicality questionnaire responses from participants of 96.70% with a very practical categories, the results of the questionnaire responses teacher practicality of 87.50% with avery practical categories, and the results of the learning keterlaksanaan practicality of 90.91% to the category of very practical. This it can be concluded that the research on the development of Riau Malay culture-based student worksheets with realistic mathematical approaches in Bengkalis 1 Public Middle School has proven validity and practicality.
