Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of the Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning model on mathematical problem solving abilities of class X MIPA Pekanbaru 10 SMA. This research is quasi-experimental design with the research design The Nonequivalent Control Group Design using purposive sampling technique. The study was conducted from April 9, 2019 to April 30, 2019. The population in this study were all students of class X MIPA Pekanbaru 10 High School in the academic year 2018/2019. While the samples in this study were students of class X MIPA5 as the experimental class and X MIPA6 as the control class. The instruments used in this study were tests of mathematical problem solving abilities, observation sheets for the implementation of the learning process, and learning devices consisting of syllabus, lesson plans, and Student Worksheets (LKPD). The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. Based on the results of data analysis, the average experimental class pretest data (X MIPA5) = 31.57 and the control class (X MIPA6) = 28.86, while the experimental class posttest data (X MIPA5) = 75.71 and the control class (X MIPA6) = 66.94. There is an increase in the average score of the experimental class of 44.14 points in the good category, as well as the increase in the average score for the control class by 32.08 points in the good category.
