Abstract

Hengki Riadi The purpose of this study was to determine the role of the district tourism departement in kuantan singingi in promoting tourism in the culture of the baganduang boat festival and to find out the inhibiting factors. Indicators in this study are Publications, events that are being held, media or advertising, transportation and accommodation. This type of research is qualitative descriptive. Key informants and informants in this study were the head of the tourism department, marketing section, cultural section, sub-district head, local cultural figures, batobo natural volunteers, and tourists or the community. Types and data collection techniques used consist of primary data which is collected through research toolsin the form of interviews, observation, and documentation. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the role of the kuantan District tourism departement in promoting the baganduang boat festival tourism can be said to be quite good. The obstacles are limited budget funds to promote the festival, as well as inadequate lodging places, lack of ideas of creativity and innovation from the executive committee. This festival has not been used as a priority tourism service program in developing tourism objects in the regency Kuantan Singingi
