Abstract
This study aims to determine the ability of accounting teachers in making Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) questions at SMK Negeri 1 Tembilahan. This type of research is descriptive qualitative, data collection techniques with interviews with accounting subjects at SMK Negeri 1 Tembilahan, students majoring in accounting and documentation studies in the form of assignments, quizzes, daily tests and semester learning evaluations. Data obtained in the form of the ability of Accounting teachers in making HOTS questions at SMK Negeri 1 Tembilahan odd and even semester of the 2018/2019 school year, were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that the ability of teachers in making HOTS questions (14.95%) was C4 questions (11.085), C5 (3.87%), C6 (0%) and LOTS questions (85.05%) namely C1 (53, 14%), C2 (20.96%), C3 (10.95%) thus it can be concluded that the ability of Accounting subject teachers in making HOTS questions is very poor (14.95%).
