Abstract
In learning various problems that are often encountered among them lack of student motivation in economic subjects and student readiness in learning so that student learning outcomes are not as expected. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the learning model Contextual Teaching AND Learning to improve learning outcomes in the eye economic studies at SMA PGRI Pekanbaru. The method used is used in this study was the experimental class, to determine the effect of a treatment of the research subject. The population of this study is all students of class XI IPS SMA PGRI Pekanbaru with a sample of 2 class, namely XI IPS 2 as a control class, XI IPS 1 as an experimental class. Data from the results of this study were obtained using a shaped instrument multiple choice questions as many as 20 questions that were done at the time of the pretest before the learning process takes place, and posttest is done after the process implementation carried out. Based on the results of the final data analysis obtained values t count = 2.161 and t table = 1,998, which shows t count > t table , meaning there is the influence of the learning model contextual teaching and learning for improve learning outcomes of the experimental class XI IPS 1 students who apply contextual teaching and learning learning model with XI IPS control class 2 that applies conventional learning to economic subjects material on economic growth and development in PGRI SMA Pekanbaru.
