Abstract
Analysis of Code Mixing use in Instagram at the Fourth semester at the English Language Education Students at UIR Keyword: Instagram, Students, Code Mixing Students of English language education department open their Instagram daily.People can share their real moments, share information, ideas, and whatever they want to share their real moments, share information, ideas, and whatever they want to Instagram. The research was conducted with a descriptive qualitative research. The samples were the students of English Language Education in the 4th semester, to get more specific subject in the research the researcher used random sampling technique. The instrument used in this research Observation Sheet and Interview Guide. The result of this research that the almost used type of code mixing used by the 4th semester students of English Language Education at UIR in Instagram is Intra-Sentential code mixing 15 times, Intra-lexical code mixing 17 times, A change pronunciation 5 imes, Alternation congruent lexicalization 12 times, single full sentences 36 times and the reasons were used to analyze the reasons in using code mixing on Instagram by the 4th semester students English Language Education. There are reasons in used code mixing are Need felling motive, Prestige filling motive, Repetition, Clarify the speech, and Exclude other people. The based on the research also could be concluded that most of the students used code mixing because they got filling motive and the researcher could also be concluded that the students rarely use code mixing to exclude other people.
