Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of the Camat in Coordinating Community Empowerment Program Activities in Tenayan Raya District, Pekanbaru City. Does the sub-district have a role in the empowerment program activities and what are the obstacles in carrying out community empowerment program activities in the sub-district of tenayan raya kotabaru. The formulation of the problem is: How is the Role of the Camat in Coordinating Community Empowerment Activities in Tenayan Raya District, Pekanbaru City? This type of research is descriptive with qualitative research methods. The research location is Tenayan Raya District, Pekanbaru City. The location of the research is Tenayan Raya sub-district, Pekanbaru City. There were 7 informants in the research consisting of 1 sub-district head, 1 village head, 1 community institution, and 1 RW, . The types and sources of research data are primary data and secondary data. The data collection techniques are Observation, Interview and Documentation. Data analysis was conducted qualitatively by means of a purposive method. The results of this study concluded that the sub-district head had a role in coordinating community-based community empowerment in the tenayan sub-district of Pekanbaru City. It can be concluded from the results of interviews with informants for all indicators showing that the role of the sub-district head in coordinating community empowerment activities in the sub-district of Tenayan Raya plays a role. The inhibiting factor in the implementation of community empowerment programs in the sub-district of Tenayan Raya is the issue of budget distribution for program activities t o be carried out. The suggestion for this research is that the sub-district head as the coordinator always tries to coordinate the implementation of community empowerment activities through indicators: managerial hierarchy, setting rules and procedures, setting and determining the objectives of the program. to the lurah, Rw and other elements to always support the efforts of the camat in promoting community empowerment so that the expected goals can be achieved.
