Abstract

Analysis of News Writing Errors in Class VIIIA assignments at SMP Negeri 1 Siak Hulu in 2019/2020. FKIP UIR. News writing skills are one of the skills that exist in every Indonesian language learning activity. The thesis entitled "Analysis of Writing Errors in News Writing for Class VIIIA SMP Negeri 1 Siak Hulu 2019/2020". The problems in this study are 1) How is the ability to write news leads on class VIIIA assignments at SMP Negeri 1 Siak Hulu in 2019/2020?, 2) How is the ability to write news bodies in class VIIIA assignments at SMP Negeri 1 Siak Hulu in 2019/2020? 3) How is the ability to write news tails on class VIIIA assignments at SMP Negeri 1 Siak Hulu in 2019/2020?. This study aims to analyze news writing errors in the assignments of class VIIIA students of SMP Negeri 1 Siak Hulu in 2019/2020. In conducting the research, the researcher used descriptive methods with research techniques, namely hermaneutic techniques. The theory that the author uses in this study is the theory of the Press Law (2005), Toto Sugiharto (2019), Wahyudi El Panggabean (2016), Kosasih (2017) and Ekawati (2017). The source used in this research is the task of the students in writing news on the syllabus of Basic Competencies 3.1 and 4.1 about identifying the elements of news texts and concluding the content of the news for class VIIIA SMP Negeri 1 Siak Hulu. The results of this study indicate that there are errors in writing headlines in the assignments of class VIIIA SMPN 1 Siak Hulu students, there are several errors in writing such as the absence of 5w + h elements completely and well, students tend to only use the who and when elements, and the lack of sources as witnesses in news writing. Errors in writing news agencies in the assignments of class VIIIA students of SMPN 1 Siak Hulu there are several errors in writing news agencies such as the absence of elements of who (how) and how (why), and the absence of sources in providing direct or indirect sentences in writing the news that is made. by students in their work. There are several errors in writing the tail of the news, such as the absence of additional information as a complement to complete the content of the news, students tend to use closing words in every writing of the tail of the news.
