Abstract

This research aims to determine the level of learning difficulties in biological learning experienced by students of grade VIII SMP Negeri 3 Pekanbaru academic year 2018/2019. This research is a descriptive study using a quantitative approach. The techniques used in data collection are polls, interviews and documentation. The research was conducted from February 2019. The population in this study is all students of grade VIII SMP Negeri 3 Pekanbaru with the sampling techniques used that are techniques proportionate stratified random sampling so that the samples in the study amounted to 115 students. The distributed poll consists of 38 statements. The average learning difficulties of students in science Sciences class VIII school SMP Negeri 3 Pekanbaru school year 2018/2019 is 77.19% including into high category, which means the level of learning difficulty of students is low. The results showed that students in class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Pekanbaru school year 2018/2019 high academic level have difficulty learning factor students in high category with percentage of 84.37%. The academic level is having a student learning difficulty factor in high category with a percentage of 75.04%. Low academic levels have a student learning difficulty factor in categories of just a percentage of 72.18%.
