Abstract

The present study entitled, The Comparison of Cognitive Learning Among Students of Class VII in Applying Cooperative Learning Word Square and Scramble using Handout at Class VII4 and VII5 in SMP 17 Pekanbaru in academic year 2017/2018 on Tuesday 20 march 2018 to Friday 13 april 2018. This study was conducted to find out the implementation of the cognitive learning biology among the students that implement cooperative learning Word Square and Scramble Using Handouts to global warming material. The population of this research was the students of Class VII in SMP 17 Pekanbaru. Samples were selected based on test for normality and homogenity of the value pretest. Two classes of normal and homogeneous then selected based on the value of the average absorption rate to determine the experimental class X (Word Square) and X 2 1 (Scramble) experimental class, then the class was chosen as an experimental class X 1 VII4 and VII5 as an experimental class X . The data collection is conducted by the written test techniques. Based on descriptive of date get the average with experiment class X 1 2 (VII4)= 88,06 and experiment class X (VII5)= 85,08. Hypotesis testing is done by t-test analysis. Based on the analysis of the ttest known that t-score = 3 > t tabel = 1,99, H i accepted and H resulting in acceptance of the hypothesis. The general conclusion of this research is that there is a different result in the way of learning between the Classroom Learning Students Applying Word Square compared with other class that implement Learning Scramble model using handouts in class VII4 and VII5 in SMP 17 Pekanbaru in Academic Year 2017/2018. Finally the conclusson of the cooperative Word Square with used handout have the difference with Scramble.
