Abstract

The purpose of this study was to study the skimming technique on reading comprehension in the second year analytic exposition students of Cerenti 1 Public High School. The design of this study is research. which has two variables. The first variable is the skimming technique as the variable taken. The sample of this study was 62 second grade students of SMA 1 Cerenti. This study uses experimental research. Furthermore, there are two groups in this study. There are experimental and class control classes, data collection techniques applied by researchers, pre-test, treatment and post-test. Data were analyzed using paireed t-test through the SPSS program. From data to 5,381 and df is 19. To compare well at the level of 5%. Based on table t, it can be analyzed for tables higher than 5% in other words, 5.381> 0.456. This is important, meaning that it is important to use skimming techniques for reading comprehension of students in the second year of the analytical exposition text of Cerenti 1 Public High School.
