Abstract
Through product development, the company is expected to be able to increase sales volume. Consumers expect products with high quality, quality is something that needs to get the main attention of the company or manufacturer, improving the quality of a product is closely related to the problem of consumer decisions that are the goal of marketing activities undertaken by the company. This can be seen from the distinctive taste of D'Besto's fried chicken and the various product variants produced by D'Besto's Chicken. The purpose of this study was to determine the product development of the Pekanbaru D'Abesto chicken. The method used is descriptive and quantitative methods; A sample of 50 consumers. Questionnaire and interview data collection techniques as well as descriptive, qualitative and quantitative data analysis. This study concludes that the basic characteristics of products in product development at D‟Besto Pekanbaru is that most respondents gave responses in the quite good category. This states that in choosing products, consumers will consider the superiority of their products first, especially the problem of food products which must be guaranteed taste and quality. Product design and style in purchasing products at D'Abesto Pekanbaru Branch, which is the majority of respondents who gave responses in the quite good category. This states that the packaging design provided is also attractive and safe for food. The truly innovative products in product development at D‟Besto Pekanbaru Branch are the most respondents who gave quite good responses in the category. The substitute products in product development at D‟Besto Pekanbaru Branch are the most respondents who gave quite good responses in the category. Many people are aware of the advantages and types of these products, one of which is from information obtained from other relatives who have felt the products sold at D‟Besto Pekanbaru Branch. The addition of form, style and characteristics in product development in D‟Besto Pekanbaru is that most respondents gave good enough responses in the category.
