Abstract
Madrasah Tsanawiyah Miftahul Khairiyah Ummah Foundation is one of the private junior high schools in Singingi Hilir District. The competition to get new students among the existing schools is quite fierce. Various strategies and ways are used to get students. In its operations there are obstacles in fulfilling the quota of students. This study aims to analyze the promotion activities of the Madrasah Tsanawiyah Miftahul Khairiyah Ummah Foundation Singingi Hilir District Kuantan Singingi District in attracting students. The study uses promotion strategy theory by optimizing seven aspects of marketing variables, namely product, price, place, promotion, process, people, and physical evidence. Research using qualitative methods to obtain research data subject chosen by purposive sampling. Research data sources are informants consisting of the Chairperson of the Foundation, principals, teachers, parents and students. Data collection is done by interview, observation, and documentation. The results showed that promotion was carried out by putting up banners, making brochures and socializing to elementary schools. In the learning process not only the general curriculum, but also the religious curriculum. The conclusion of this research is the promotion of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Miftahul Khairiyah Ummah Singingi Hilir District Kuantan Singingi Regency in attracting students' interest is still very simple, namely only by using promotion in the form of brochures and banners as a tool for school introductions, socialization to elementary schools and establishing good relations with community leaders and religious leaders.
