Abstract
Communication in an organization will guarantee the act of sharing information among members in an organization and can also be a supporting factor to optimize employee performance. Based on the data in the field, it was found that there was a mismatch of the work done with the target determined by the superior due to misunderstanding between the directions given and the employee's understanding. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of leadership communication on employee performance in the public relations department of the City Government of Pariaman. This research is a quantitative research with a descriptive approach. The population in totaling 20 people and at the same time used as a sample. The study was conducted from 17 to 29 June 2019 in the Public Relations Section of the City Government of Pariaman. Data analysis uses correlation test, hypothesis test and test of determination. Based on the results of the study found that there is a very large or very strong influence between the communication of the leadership of the performance of employees in the Public Relations Section of the City Government of Pariaman with a correlation value of 0.839. While the contribution of leadership communication to performance amounted to 70.5%. To the stakeholders of the Pariaman City Government Public Relations in order to continue to improve the performance of its employees by increasing the level of communication of its leaders so as to create quality employees.
