Abstract
In the world of education, can not be separated from the rules that aim to create discipline, uniformity, and character building. At the Faculty of Islamic Religion, the Riau Islamic University applies dress codes based on the Islamic Sharia Law. In this case the Faculty of Islamic Religion of the Riau Islamic University wants to be a guideline for other Faculties within the Riau Islamic University. However, still found female students who violated the dress code. The purpose of this research is to find out the self-concept of the Islamic Faculty of Islamic University of Riau students who dressed according to the rules. This research uses purposive sampling technique by determining the criteria. The informants in this study were 7 informants, consisting of 3 main informants and 4 supporting informants from peers who knew the main informants both inside and outside the campus environment and the dean of the Islamic Faculty of Islamic University of Riau Islamic University to explain in detail about the rules that apply in The faculty. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with observation, interview and documentation data collection techniques. The results of this study are students of the Islamic Faculty of Islamic University of Riau who break the dress code having various self-concepts, namely, 2 informants have a positive self-concept and 1 informant has a negative self-concept. This is due to the lack of self-awareness of the importance of rules and self-discipline, as well as the influence of parental education and environmental influences from peers that can affect individual self-concepts.
