Abstract
This research is motivated by the fact that there are still people in Pekanbaru who are disappointed with insurance and people who are not aware or do not care about the importance of having insurance, the theory used in this research is the theory of persuasive communication rationally and emotionally Mar'at, namely communication carried out to change the behavior, attitudes or opinions of a person towards the desired communicator, rationally the cognitive component in a person can be influenced. The aspects that are affected can be ideas or concepts, so that the person is formed a belief (belief), while emotionally by touching aspects of affection, namely matters relating to one's emotional life. In this way, aspects of one's sympathy and empathy are aroused, so a happy process arises in the person who is persuaded (the liking process). The method used in this study is qualitative with three main informants and two customer informants who have been disappointed with Prudential insurance as a supporter. Data collected through the process of observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study are that in maintaining customer persuasive communication conducted by Prudential Pru Advance Pekanbaru agents, rationally, for new customers by matching customer concepts, ideas and understanding of insurance and emotionally for customers who have been disappointed with insurance by linking the use of having insurance with the reality of life that often occurs among the public, it is able to touch the hearts of prospective customers and make him want to know more about insurance.
