Abstract

Folk poetry is a type of poetry that develops in life everyday society; as a tradition of the local community. That problem found in this study is how the ability to identify information from the folk poetry of class VII students of MTs Masmur Pekanbaru in the school year 2018/2019 in concluding the general characteristics of folk poetry? identify information from the poetry of the people of class VII MTs Masmur Pekanbaru 2018/2019 school year in comparing structural similarities and differences folk poetry ?, how is the ability to identify information from folk poetry VII grade students of MTs Masmur Pekanbaru in academic year 2018/2019 in registering words / sentences used in folk poetry? The purpose of this study is the ability to identify information from the poetry of folk students of class VII MTs Masmur Pekanbaru 2018/2019 school year in summarizing the general characteristics of poetry folk in the text, identifying information from the poetry of folk students of class VII MTs Masmur Pekanbaru 2018/2019 school year in comparing equations and differences in the structure of folk poetry, identifying information from student poetry class VII MTs Masmur Pekanbaru academic year 2018/2019 in registering words / sentences used in folk poetry. Theory about folk poetry by Kosasih (2018), Masmedia (2017), Endah Tri Priyatno (2017), Titik Harsiati (2016). The method used is descriptive method. The population of this study is Grade VII students of MTs Masmur Pekanbaru with 79 people from three classes. The sample in this study were all seventh grade students of MTs Masmur Pekanbaru there are 79 people. Techniques for collecting data with observation and engineering techniques test. The results of this study are students' ability to identify information from folk poetry based on the general aspects of the rhyme is well categorized once with an average of 95.44, the general characteristics of the poem are categorized as very good with on average 91.64, the general characteristics of the gurindam are categorized well with an average of 71.64, similarities and differences in folk poetry are well categorized with an average of 73.73, register words / sentences on pantun well categorized with an average of 68.67, register words / sentences on poems categorized well with an average of 67.72. register the word / sentence for the gurindam is well categorized with an average of 69.30. Conclusion in this study is the ability of class VII students of MTs Masmur Pekanbaru in identifying information from folk poetry is categorized as good with an average 76.87. So the hypothesis in this study was rejected.
