Abstract

His study aims to determine the declarative and obedient sentence forms and violations of the maximal principle of witness cooperation in the Class 1 A District Court in Pekanbaru. The problem of this research is what are the declarative speeches of witnesses, how are the declarative speech forms of witnesses who obey the principle of the same principle and how is the declarative speech form that violates the principle of cooperation in the Class 1 A Pekanbaru District Court. The author uses the theory put forward by Grice (Wijana, 1996) as a theoretical reference. This research uses a descriptive method. The results of this study indicate that there are 196 declarative speech utterances consisting of expressing 84 utterance factual information, stating that there are 6 speeches or judgments, stating agreements, warnings and advice 1 utterance, expressing gratitude for a success or utterance concerned with misfortune 1 , and state an explanation or explanation of 72 speeches. In the statement the witness stated more factual information to the judge, the witness's speech was the answer expected by the judge because the answer provided the actual information. On the principle of cooperation there are four maxims which consist of quantity maxim 77 cooperative speech, maxim quality 36 cooperative speech, maxim relevance 33 cooperative speech, and maxim implementation of 1 cooperative speech. Whereas the violation of the principle of cooperation has four maxims, namely violation of quantity maxim 19 uncooperative speech, maxim of quality 1 speech is not cooperative, maxim relevance 21 uncooperative speech, and maximal implementation of 8 non-cooperative speeches.
