Abstract

This study aims to determine the Semiotic Architecture Symbol Analysis of the Dome of the An-Nur Great Mosque in Pekanbaru City, while the reason for the authors to conduct research at the An-Nur Mosque is due to the phenomenon that occurs in the field, many people do not understand the meaning and symbols of the existence of buildings in the An-Nur Mosque especially related to the Dome of the Mosque. Semiotics comes from the word Yunnani which is Semion, which means sign, or same which means interpretation of signs. So semiotics means the science of signs. Semiotics is the study of the sign and everything related to the sign. In this study, researchers used a research method with a qualitative approach by collecting data by conducting interviews, observations, and also documentation, where the sample that the author determined in conducting this research was Mr. Drs. H. Amir. MZ Head of Worship, Da'wah, and Social Community of the An-Nur Mosque in Pekanbaru City, the data obtained from the respondents that the author specified then poured in a discussion with each interview result that the author got completed with documentation and analysis. And based on the results that the author can be in the field, the author can conclude that the design or style contained in the dome of the An-Nur mosque in Pekanbaru, the dome is given a touch of architectural design with the dominance of green and yellow plus a touch of blue to complete it, while for the dome Masjid An-Nur, more like a reverse top, and for coloring, the pattern given to the dome gives a Malay nuance and also becomes the color of Riau Province itself.
