Abstract
The aim of this research is find out prospect of industrial household business and its role in labor absorption (case study of banana chips industry) in Indragiri Hulu. This research used an analysis ofincome and Benefit Cost Ratio formula to find out the appropriateness of industrial banana chips business in Indragiri Hulu. Furthermore, tis research also used descriptive analysis to find out labor absorption in industrial banana chips business in Indragiri Hulu. From the research, it is concluded that the result of industrial banana chips show an appropriate prospect to be used as a bussiness with the average of BCR value from the respondences more than 1, the lowest B/C ratio is 2,52 and the highest 2,85. Then regarding the employment of the banana chips industry business have 5 businesses and can absorb 18 people, this means that the business has a role in the absorption of labor in Indragiri Hulu Regency
