Abstract

The role is a dynamic aspect of one's position or status. Someone will be declared to carry out the role after carrying out their rights and obligations in accordance with their position. the role includes three aspects. First, the role is an assessment of the behavior of someone who is in the community. A person's behavior is related to his position and position in society. Such behavior is regulated by regulations that apply to guide someone in the community. Second, roles are concepts carried out by someone in the community in accordance with their position. Third, the role is someone's behavior that is important for the social structure of society. The problems that arise are the unrealized development of existing art and culture planning, so that many cultural arts have not been able to be managed and developed well, especially the art of boat culture. Kuantan Singingi. Types and sources of data used primary data and secondary data, while collecting data through the results of observations, interviews, and research documentation. After the data is obtained and then grouped according to its type in a table, then the data is analyzed and linked to theories in the form of descriptions so that conclusions can be taken. Based on the research results of the Department of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports of Kuantan Singingi Regency, it is quite instrumental in developing the art of boat culture and culture. The role was firstly for the assistance provided by the service office regarding the facilities and infrastructure needed by the boat boat culture arts group, and the official also facilitated the performance of the art and culture boat performances.
