Abstract

This research is to find out the factors that influence poverty in Riau Islands Province. The data used in this study is secondary data. Data analysis method used in processing the results of this study is the method of multiple linear regression analysis where the method is used to measure the effect of the dependent variable on the dependent variable. The results showed that the R2 value was 0.8228959. This means that 82% of the variables (Unemployment Rate, Population Growth Rate, Economic Growth) are representative to explain the dependent variable (poverty). While the remaining 18% is explained by other variables outside the model. Furthermore, seen from the coefficient value of the independent variable T test (partial) it can be seen that the unemployment rate variable (X1) has a positive and significant effect on the factors that affect poverty (Y) in Riau Islands Province. Then the Population growth rate variable (X2) has a positive and insignificant influence on the factors that affect poverty (Y) in Riau Islands Province. Next variable economic growth rate (X3) has a positive and not significant effect on the factors that affect poverty (Y) in Riau Islands Province. Whereas based on the F Test (Simultaneous) the three free variables simultaneously have a significant effect on poverty in the Riau Islands Province.
