Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of location on the sales volume of Mataram Marpoyan Bakso, Pekanbaru.According to Fandy Tjiptono (2015: 345), location refers to various marketing activities that seek to streamline and facilitate the delivery or distribution of goods and services from producers to consumers. Meanwhile, according to Swastha (2003: 141), sales volume is the net sales of the company's profit statement. Net sales are obtained through sales of all products (line products) during a certain period, and sales proceeds obtained from market share, which are potential sales, which may consist of territorial groups and groups of buyers of shares for a certain period of time. The research method used is quantitative research methods because the researcher wants to get data by analyzing the data by describing or describing the data and making observations in the research place. The results showed that the location was seen from eight indicators, namely access, visibility, traffic, parking space, expansion, environment, security, and competition. Meanwhile, sales volume can be seen from three indicators, namely achieving sales volume, earning a profit, and supporting company growth. The population in this study were 50 customers of Bakso Mataram Marpoyan Pekanbaru using the Slovin formula. The results of the instrument validity test showed that r count ≥ r table means that all item statements are valid and the reliability is above 0.60 which means reliable. When viewed based on the t test, it shows that the value of t count is (9,992) ≥ t table (1,679) sig (0,000) ≤ 0.1. This suggests that location partly affects sales volume. Then, the coefficient of determination (R2) is 0.860 or rounded up to 86%, i.e. Location affects Sales Volume, while the remaining 14% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study.
