Abstract
This study aims to analyze whether there is an impact of the existence of the Riau Islamic University on the performance of UMKM businesses around the campus. The research method used was descriptive qualitative analysis research. The technique used in this sampling is random sampling, research data collection is carried out by means of the results of interviews and questionnaire techniques for UMKM entrepreneurs. The number of respondents was 78 businessmen UMKM. The results of this study indicate that there are differences in UIR that have prospects in developing a business, increasing business, and inviting interest in entrepreneurship around the campus. Where many types of businesses can be opened to develop MSME businesses. Businesses only need the latest innovations to make UIR students interested in coming to a good place of business.
