Abstract

Public Relations (PR) has a very important role, because the presence of negative news and positive news can be handled by public relations. Can be seen by the author himself when a demonstration at PT PNV occurred. Public Relations parties deal quickly and responsibly. As for the Head of Public Relations and Portal Sub-Section faced and interacted with the demonstrators. Even though there was a push and push action, the Public Relations of PT PN V, gave a good and wise response. This is indicated by the role of public relations that is open to the public.Public Relations (PR) can be used as a bridge between an agency or institution with external and internal public, therefore the position of public relations is very necessary in the management of an institution. According to (Suhandang, 2004: 44) Public Relations is an art to create a better public understanding, so that it can gain trust in someone or organization.The role of Public Relations of PT PN V in building the company's image through mass media is very good, the mass media is not only to publish, but is responsible for making and forming a positive image of PTPN V through print and online media. We can also see from public relations tasks, namely, (1) press releases (2) News Conference (3) tour broadcas (4) News clippings. This becomes important to maintain the company's image with a good response, mutual trust, mutual understanding and even mutual benefits between Public Relations PTPN V and the public . By utilizing technology that develops by utilizing social media, it should be able to publish news when working holidays. As well as increasing the hypertension of employees so that they are more skilled.
