Abstract
This study is motivated by the problem of cognitive learning outcomes among students in relation to the perception of students on character education at SMA Negeri 3 Rambah Hilir District, Rokan Hulu Regency. One of the problems that exist there is the low character of the students, which can be seen from the signs such as, there are still some students who are less disciplined in obeying school rules, there are still some students who are not polite to their friends and even the teachers, there are some students who do not pay attention when being advised and there are some students in the canteen during class hours. The problem formulation of this study: how is the perception of students on character education at SMA Negeri 3 Rambah Hilir District, Rokan Hulu Regency?, while the aim of this study is to investigate the perception of students on character education at SMA Negeri 3 Rambah Hilir District, Rokan Hulu Regency. The type of this study is quantitative descriptive research with a population of 25 students. The data collection techniques used are questionnaires and documentation. This is a study with one variable. The the results of this study show that the perception of students on character education at SMA Negeri 3 Rambah Hilir district, Rokan Hulu regency is at the level of 83% or inclueded in very strong criteria. So, it can be concluded that the perception of students on character education at SMA Negeri 3 Rambah Hilir District, Rokan Hulu Regency is very strong.
