Abstract

This study is motivated by the problems of low learning concentration among students. Learning concentration is very important in the teaching and learning process that must be owned by students, especially in education. Based on these problems, the researcher was interested in doing a research about the teachers’ teaching skills on students’ concentration in learning islamic Studies in class XI at SMAN 5 Tualang, Tualang District, Siak Regency. The problem formulation of this study: Is there any influence of the teachers’ teaching skills on students’ concentration in learning Islamic Studies in class XI at SMAN 5 Tualang, Tualang District, Siak Regency?. The aim of this study is to investigate the influence of teachers’ teaching skills on students’ concentration in learning Islamic Studies in class XI at SMAN 5 Tualang, Tualang District, Siak Regency. The type of this study is quantitative research with a correlation approach. The subject of this study is the students in class XI at SMA Negeri 5 Tualang and the object is the influence of teachers’ teaching skills on students’ concentration in learning Islamic Studies in class XI at SMA Negeri 5 Tualang, Tualang District, Siak Regency. Meanwhile, the sample of this study is taken from the entire population, namely 80 people. Based on the results of data processing and data analysis performed by SPSS 22, it is found that the probability of significance value is 0.000. Because the significance value is smaller than 0.05, i.e. 0.000 <0.05, it means that there is an influence of the teachers’ teaching skills on students’ concentration in learning Islamic studies in class XI at SMAN 5 Tualang, Tualang District, Siak Regency. The probability value of the Pearson product moment is equal to 0.405 or 40.5% which lies in the range of 0.40 - 0.699 or in medium category. In conclusion, the teachers’ teaching skills have influenced the students’ concentration in learning Islamic Studies in class XI at SMAN 5 Tualang, Tualang District, Siak Regency with medium level.
