Abstract
This study aims to determine the motives, actions and meanings of the Mobile Legends ORBS team for Esports games . The theory used is the phenomenological theory of Kuswarno (2009) with careful elements, namely motives, actions and meanings. This study uses a qualitative approach. In this study the subject amounted to 5 people. Data collection techniques used are interviews, observation and documentation. The results show that the motives of the Mobile Legends ORBS team for Esports games consist of two motives, first the past motive refers to the past experience of the Mobile Legends ORBS team. Starting from a hobby and watching Mobile Legends Professional (MPL) competitions to seeing interviews that have been widely spread on the you tube platform became a factor that pushed the Mobile Legends ORBS team who became informants in this study to choose esports , both future motives, esports athletes I want to prove to the public that esports, or often known as playing games, is not just a hobby, but a new profession or job. The action of the Mobile Legends ORBS team towards Esports games is to follow and continue to practice and participate in tournaments.Making of the teamMobile Legends orbsto Esports namely as a means of earning, and also as a means of demonstrating their skills and talents while playing to the public, and Esports already like their world where they cannot stop to continue a career in Esports.
