Abstract
The research is based on the increasing number of smartphone users in Indonesia, especially the VIVO smartphone. VIVO itself is a smartphone product originating from China, and entered the Indonesia market for the first time in 2014. This research was conducted at Plaza Senapelan Pekanbaru. Of several smartphone in Indonesia, VIVO is included in one of the smartphone brands that quite a lot of enthusiasts. This research focuses on how marketing communications are carried out by the VIVO smartphone Pekanbaru. The purpose of this research is to find out how marketing communications is carried out by the VIVO Smartphone Pekanbaru. The research used qualitative research method witch a descriptive approach which aims to describe and explain the marketing communications of VIVO smartphone Pekanbaru in attracting consumer interest. This study determined 7 people ranging from 2 marketing, trainer, promotor and 3 consumer as informants. The results of this study indicate that VIVO smartphone Pekanbaru marketing communications are running well, communication between VIVO employees and consumers is going well because employees go straight to the core, explain what customer want, and consumers are satisfied with the information they get related to VIVO.
