Abstract

This study aims to find out how the ethics of family communication among out-of-school children in Kapur IX District, Lima Puluh City, West Sumatra. The subjects in this study were school dropouts in Nagari Sialang, Kapur IX District, Lima Puluh City, West Sumatra. The method used in this research is qualitative method. In this study, there were 6 children as main informants who were obtained based on the Snowball Sampling method and 6 people as additional informants from the main informant's parents. The results showed that the ethics of communication that occurred between parents and children who dropped out of school and found 3 findings of family communication, namely the first finding that 3 people experienced changes in family communication that were getting worse, the second finding was that one person experienced changes in family communication which gradually improved and the findings In the third, there were 2 people who did not experience changes in family communication after dropping out of school.
