Abstract
This study is motivated by the low creativity of students in learning Islamic Studies at SMPN 3 Rambah Hilir, Rokan Hulu Regency. This study aims to investigate the influenceof school environment on students’ creativities in learning Islamic Studies at SMPN 3 Rambah Hilir, Rokan Hulu Regency. The type of this study is quantitative research with a correlation approach. The population of this study is 207 students from class VIII and class IX at SMPN 3 Rambah Hilir, Rokan Hulu Regency with a sample of 136 students. The data collection techniques used are questionnaires and documentation, while the data analysis techniques used are normality test, linearity test, and hypothesis testwith the statistical analysis of a simple linear regression model performed by SPSS 23. Based on the results of data processing and data analysis, it is found that the hypothesis of the influence of school environment on students’ learning creativitiesis accepted with a significance value of 0.000. It means that there is an influence of school environment on students’creativities in learning Islamic Studies at SMPN 3 Rambah Hilir, Rokan Hulu Regency. The magnitude of the influence is 0.404 or 40.4% which is in the range 0.40 – 0.599 or included in a fairly strong category. It can be predicted that if the school environment increases, then it will contribute to increasing learningcreativity by 0.575 or 57.5%. Vice versa, if the school environment decreases, the learning creativity will also decrease by 0.575 or 57.5%.
