Abstract

Parents pay attention to their children seriously can caused their children will behave well. Because parents are the first and primary school of the growth for their children. Based on preliminary study found some symptoms of students‟ deviant behavior such as: (1) Rebelling against school rules, (2) lying, (3) anarchy behaviors, (4) disobedient to parents and teachers, (5) and smoking. The formulation of this study is whether there is an influence of parents‟ attention on students‟ deviant behavior at class VIII MTs Miftahul Jannah Peranap. The aims of this study is to determine influence of parents‟ attention on students‟ deviant behavior at class VIII MTs Miftahul Jannah Peranap. The population of this study is all classes totaling 85 students, all of which are sampled using the type of correlational research. The data collection technique uses questionnaires and documentation, while the data analysis used is simple linear regression. Based on the results of processing the data calculated using SPSS 20 obtained based on the Model Summary table that displays the correlation coefficient value of 0.156 or 15.6% and the determination coefficient of 0.406 or 40.6% which is categorized as "medium". This means that the influence of parents‟ attention on students‟ deviant behavior is medium. Keywords: Parent's Attention and Students' Deviant Behavior
