Abstract

Compensation was a company’s giving form to employee either in form of money, goods, or facility as a feedback toward their job. Stefani Sharia Hotel Pekanbaru gave compensation in form of money and goods to employee in order to fulfil the employee needs in hope that they would feel satisfy and improved their performance. However, based on writer presurvey, there was employees that complained about their compensation, they were not satisfy with the compensation given to them. The purpose in this research examined to analyze the compensation in improving employee performance. This research used descriptive qualitative analysis, described, and resumed various conditions and situations from various data collection such as interview or observation about the problem happened in the field. Furthermore, this research finding explained that from interview and analysis about compensation in improving employee performance at Stefani Sharia Hotel Pekanbaru that related to financial compensation and non-financial compensation clearly stated that it could improve employee performance. In other words, initial assumption from some employees that non satisfy with the compensation was not accepted. It contrasted with interview result showed that the positive impact and it meant that the employee was satisfy with the compensation.
